9 Bullets follows the story of Ellie (Lena Headey), a former burlesque dancer who has put her past behind her and established a peaceful life in a quiet suburb. Her world is turned upside down when she witnesses her young neighbor, Tommy, witness the murder of his parents at the hands of the local crime boss, Karl (Sam Worthington), who also happens to be Ellie's former lover and abuser.
Determined to protect Tommy, Ellie goes against her better judgment and takes the boy with her on a dangerous journey to safety. On the run from Karl and his men, Ellie and Tommy must navigate treacherous terrain and make their way through a number of obstacles in order to reach their destination.
