7 Days in Havana is a 2012 film made up of seven short films, each directed by a different director and taking place in Havana, Cuba. The film follows a young American boy named Teddy (Josh Hutcherson) as he tries to make a name for himself in the acting business and meets various characters and experiences different aspects of Cuban culture during his stay.
The seven short films include:
Day 1: El Yuma - Teddy meets a taxi driver named Raul (Emir Kusturica) who takes him on a wild ride around Havana.
Day 2: Jam Session - Teddy attends a jam session with local musicians and learns about Cuban music.
Day 3: La Tentacion de Cecilia - Teddy meets a beautiful young woman named Cecilia (Melissa Rivera) and goes on a romantic adventure.
Day 4: Diabolical Education - Teddy works on a film set as an assistant director and learns about the challenges of filmmaking in Cuba.
Day 5: Ritual - Teddy learns about Santeria, an Afro-Cuban religion, and participates in a ritual ceremony.
Day 6: El Cerro - Teddy takes a hike to the top of El Cerro, a hill overlooking Havana, and learns about Cuban history and politics.
Day 7: La Naissance de la Pieuvre - Teddy attends a film festival and sees the world premiere of a Cuban film.
Throughout the week, Teddy experiences various ups and downs, but ultimately learns about the beauty and complexity of Cuban culture and forms a deeper understanding of himself.
