The ex-mercenary's name is Samson Gaul, played by Jean-Claude Van Damme. He is reluctant to take on the case at first, but is swayed by the desperate pleas of the fighter, Andrew Fayden (played by Joe Flanigan).
Gaul begins his investigation by tracking down the members of a human trafficking ring responsible for the kidnapping. As he digs deeper, he uncovers a web of corruption and violence, and realizes the situation is more complicated than he anticipated.
Along the way, Gaul is aided by a young woman named Ana, who was herself a victim of the trafficking ring.
As the clock ticks down, Gaul and Fayden race against time to rescue the young girl before she is sold into slavery or worse. Along the way, there are plenty of action-packed fight scenes and tense moments.
In the end, Gaul and Fayden are able to free the girl and bring the traffickers to justice, but not before facing some personal demons and making some tough moral choices.
