3-Iron is a 2004 South Korean film written, directed and edited by Kim Ki-duk. The film follows the story of Tae-suk, a young man who rides his motorcycle around the city, breaking into empty apartments to sleep in and occupy. He never causes any damage or steals anything, instead, he simply enjoys being alone and fixing things around the apartments.

One day, Tae-suk breaks into the luxurious mansion of a wealthy businessman who is away on a trip, only to discover that the wife of the owner, Sun-hwa, is being physically and mentally abused by her husband. Tae-suk sees the bruises on her face and decides to free her, taking her with him on his motorcycle.

As they spend time together, Tae-suk and Sun-hwa develop an unusual relationship. They never speak a word to each other, yet they understand and communicate with each other better than anyone else. They travel to different apartments, occupying them for short periods until they move on to the next one, never staying in one place for too long.

Meanwhile, the police, investigating the husband's disappearance, catch up with Tae-suk and Sun-hwa, who must now face the consequences of their actions and the situation they have created.

3-Iron explores themes of abuse, freedom, isolation, and hope through its unique and beautifully shot visuals and minimalistic approach to storytelling. The film won multiple awards, including the Venice Film Festival's Best Director prize.
