3 Backyards is a drama film that explores the lives of three very different people who live in the same Long Island suburban town. The movie takes place over the course of one autumn day, during which the three characters are each forced to confront their own inner conflicts and desires.
The first character, an executive named John, is played by Elias Koteas. John is a successful businessman who has grown tired of his mundane life. He decides to take a day off work and instead spends it exploring his town, hoping to rediscover the sense of wonder and excitement that he's lost over the years.
The second character, a housewife named Peggy, is played by Edie Falco. Peggy is a woman who seemingly has it all - a successful husband, a beautiful home, and two perfect children. However, she's secretly struggling with feelings of boredom and dissatisfaction. Throughout the day, Peggy wanders the town aimlessly, searching for something to fulfill her.
The third character, a young girl named Christina, is played by Rachel Resheff. Christina is an aspiring actress who sneaks out of her house to follow a movie star around town in hopes of meeting him. However, as the day progresses, Christina begins to realize that achieving her dream may not be as easy as she thought.
As the three characters traverse the town, their paths eventually cross and they begin to share their innermost thoughts and desires with each other. Through these conversations, they come to realize that despite their vastly different lives, they all share a common sense of longing and yearning for something more. In the end, each character is forced to confront their own personal demons and make choices that could impact their lives forever.
