29 to Life tells the story of a 29-year-old guy named Carter, who is living out of his car in Los Angeles. He is broke, unemployed, and just been dumped by his girlfriend. Carter is at a crossroads in his life, and he decides to embark on a journey of self-discovery to get his life back on track.
Carter's journey starts with him reconnecting with his friends from high school, who are now successful in their careers and have settled down. He is initially hesitant to admit that he is homeless and struggling, but eventually opens up to his friends who offer him help and support.
Carter takes a job as a substitute high school teacher, hoping to find stability and a sense of purpose. He forms a bond with one of his students, a troubled teenager who reminds him of himself when he was younger. Through their relationship, Carter realizes that he has the power to make a positive impact on people's lives.
