28 Days Later is a post-apocalyptic horror film released in 2002, directed by Danny Boyle and written by Alex Garland. The film is set in London, England, and follows the story of Jim, a bicycle courier who wakes up in a hospital 28 days after a virus has swept through the city, killing most of the population and turning the few survivors into bloodthirsty zombies.
Jim teams up with a small group of survivors, including Selena, Mark, and Hannah, to find a safe place to stay away from the infected. They come across a military installation that offers protection from the infected, but they soon realize that the soldiers are just as dangerous as the zombies.
As they try to survive in a world overrun by disease and destruction, the group encounters other survivors and must make difficult decisions to stay alive and keep each other safe.
28 Days Later is known for its intense scenes of violence and gore, as well as its exploration of themes such as fear, survival, and human nature in a crisis. The film was a critical and commercial success, spawning a sequel, 28 Weeks Later, as well as several video games and comic books set in the same universe.
