The four strangers come from different backgrounds - a Christian minister, a scientist, an archeologist, and a psychic. They are brought together by a series of events that lead them to the Temple of the Feathered Serpent, an ancient Mayan structure in Mexico.
As they explore the temple, they discover that it holds the key to preventing the cataclysmic events that are predicted to occur on December 21, 2012. According to Mayan prophecy, this is the end of a cycle and the beginning of a new era. NASA scientists believe that this date marks a polar shift, which will cause massive earthquakes, tsunamis, and other natural disasters that threaten to wipe out humanity.
The four strangers must work together to decipher the ancient inscriptions and unlock the secrets of the temple before it's too late.
