In 2 Graves in the Desert, the two hostages are named Anna and Tom. They are taken by their kidnappers, a man named Billy and a woman named Stacia, who are clearly mentally unstable. As they drive through the desert, the hostages try to figure out why they have been taken and what the kidnappers want from them.
Eventually, Billy and Stacia reveal that they believe Anna and Tom are responsible for the death of their daughter, who died in a car accident. Despite the hostages' protests that they were not involved in the accident, the kidnappers are convinced they are telling lies.
As the days pass, the situation becomes increasingly dire for Anna and Tom. They are subjected to psychological torture by Billy and Stacia, who seem to be enjoying their power over the helpless hostages. Meanwhile, the police are searching for the missing couple, but are making little progress in locating them.
