The movie follows the intersecting storylines of the aforementioned characters, all of whom are struggling with their own personal demons and desires. The hit men, Lee (played by James Spader) and Dosmo (played by Danny Aiello), are hired by the ex-wife of a successful Olympic athlete named Becky (played by Teri Hatcher), who hopes to gain custody of their children in the aftermath of his death.
Meanwhile, Becky has taken up with a struggling artist named Roy (played by Peter Horton), who is working as an assistant to an eccentric art dealer named Allan (played by Greg Cruttwell). Allan is also involved with a nurse named Helga (played by Charlize Theron), who moonlights as a dominatrix and is secretly plotting to steal a valuable piece of art from his collection.
At the same time, a writer named Wes (played by Jeff Daniels) is contemplating suicide but is interrupted by his loyal and lovable dog, who helps him reconnect with a former flame named Audrey (played by Glenne Headly). Finally, a grizzled cop named Alvin (played by Danny Glover) and his eager young partner, Mike (played by Giovanni Ribisi), are hot on the trail of the hit men and the various other criminals and miscreants involved in the case.
As the various storylines converge and collide over the course of two eventful days, secrets are revealed, alliances are formed and broken, and lives are forever changed in unexpected ways. With sharp dialogue, clever plot twists, and a talented ensemble cast, 2 Days in the Valley is a stylish and entertaining crime thriller that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats until the very end.
