Jenna Rink, played by Jennifer Garner, is a thirteen-year-old girl who is tired of being overlooked by her peers. At her birthday party, which was supposed to be her big coming out, she's ignored by everyone and humiliated by her crush, Matt, after she attempts to kiss him.
Heartbroken, Jenna wishes to be thirty and wakes up the next morning to find that her wish has come true. She's a successful magazine editor with a fabulous apartment, a closet full of designer clothes, and a hot boyfriend.
However, Jenna soon discovers that her new life isn't all it's cracked up to be. She's estranged from her childhood best friend, Matt, who's now engaged to someone else, and she's forgotten what's really important in life.
Jenna embarks on a journey to rediscover herself and make amends with those she's wronged along the way. Through a series of flashbacks and heart-to-heart conversations, Jenna realizes that success and material possessions aren't everything, and that she needs to remember who she truly is to be happy.
In the end, Jenna gets a chance to right her wrongs and fix her relationship with Matt, thanks to a second chance at her thirteenth birthday party. She learns that being true to yourself and staying connected to the people who matter most is what truly makes life worth living.
