As Tennie navigates the difficulties of high school life, she also begins to develop a close friendship with her driver/intern Jack, who she sees as a kindred spirit. Jack is also dealing with his own personal struggles, and the two bond over their shared experiences and help each other through their respective challenges.
Meanwhile, Robert's efforts to connect with Tennie become increasingly desperate as he tries to insert himself into her social circle and be a part of her life. Tennie, frustrated with her father's overbearing behavior, decides to take matters into her own hands and sets out to find a potential girlfriend for him.
As Tennie sets up dates for her father and tries to push him towards finding love again, she begins to question her own feelings about relationships and love.
