The scientist leading the team of Navy SEALs is named Dr. Frank Reno (played by Michael Gross), and he is haunted by the guilt of abandoning the original team he sent back to the Cretaceous period. He is convinced that he can make things right by going back in time to rescue them, but he needs the help of the highly skilled SEALs to make the mission possible.
After successfully traveling back in time, the team encounters a variety of dangers, including fierce dinosaurs and traps set by rival factions of time travelers. Along the way, they discover that the original team may have survived, but are now stranded and running out of time before the portal closes.
As they race against the clock to rescue the stranded team, they inadvertently bring back a massive, carnivorous dinosaur with razor-sharp teeth and an insatiable hunger for humans. The creature wreaks havoc on Los Angeles, causing chaos and destruction wherever it goes.
Now, the SEALs must team up with Dr. Reno and the surviving members of the original team to track down and destroy the monstrous creature before it can do any more damage. As they battle against impossible odds, they wrestle with the question of whether they can truly change the past or if they are doomed to a future where dinosaurs rule the earth.
