Tidelands is an Australian supernatural crime drama series created and written by Stephen M. Irwin and Leigh McGrath. The show focuses on Cal McTeer, a former criminal who returns to her hometown of Orphelin Bay after a 10-year stint in prison. Soon after her arrival, she discovers that the small fishing village is not what it seems; it is home to a community of half-siren/half-human beings known as Tidelanders.
The Tidelanders are led by Adrielle Cuthbert, a powerful and mysterious figure who is hell-bent on protecting her kind from the outside world. Cal's reappearance in town threatens to expose the Tidelanders' existence, and they will do whatever it takes to keep their secret safe, even if it means resorting to violence.
As Cal delves deeper into the mysteries of Orphelin Bay, she uncovers a web of deceit, corruption, and murder that goes back generations. She also reunites with her estranged brother Augie, who is now a police officer tasked with investigating the town's criminal activities.
Throughout the show's ten-episode run, we see Cal navigate the dangerous waters of Orphelin Bay, battling both human and supernatural enemies, while also coming to terms with her own complicated past.
